Living Openhearted Therapy and Wellness isn't just a name – it's a reflection of Kristin's personal journey and the core values that guide our practice. Born with a congenital heart defect, which affects 1 in 100 births, Kristin's own journey with CHD has profoundly shaped both her personal growth and her approach as a therapist.  Driven by a deep-seated desire to serve her community, Kristin has always been committed to being a resource for those embarking on their own healing journeys. Kristin and her team understand that each person's path is unique, and their dedicated to showing up authentically and compassionately to support their clients every step of the way.

What to expect from therapy

CLARIFY

Our first session we'll start to get to know each other. We'll ask questions about your past, get some background information from you, and we'll clarify what you want to work on in therapy.  (It's normal to feel a little nervous the first time we meet.)  We'll also talk about scheduling our future sessions so you know when we'll be meeting.

ALIGN

This is where we'll start to dig a little deeper.  
Our work will be a collaborative process to align your life with your core values.  We'll look at patterns you've noticed in your past as well in your behaviors or relationships.   We'll be walking beside you, but you will letting me know how we can best support you.  In our session, we'll be compassionately direct with a hint of humor. we think therapy should incorporate all aspects of the human experience, so there may be laughter, tears, relief, and realization of what you need.

MAINTENANCE

Next we'll reflect on our work together and the hard work you've put in. 
 We want to make sure that our work is helpful to you.  We'll talk about if we accomplished what you were hoping to work through in therapy.  We'll talk about next steps for you in your journey.
